CREATING HISTORIES

Who begat who? What are they known for?

Who came to power? What are they known for? How long did they reign? How did their reign end?

Who fought who? Why? Who Won? What changed?

Who invented what? What changed?

Who explored or discovered where? What did they find?

Who were in secret societies? What were their goals? How did it turn out?

Expanding The Timeline

For each Technology Level in your timeline, consider three (3) to five (5) significant events of that time.

It may help to describe the current situation, and then work backwards into history creating the events that fed into the current situation.

When creating each historical event, consider the technology that came before, and the potential effect your chosen Magic Level has on that event.

After laying out the significant events, expand each event with a brief prose description to help Adventurers understand the significance of the event to the current setting.

Interstellar Exploration

Futuristic settings can develop additional historical events by considering how the interstellar exploration moved out from the mainworld into the rest of the star system or into other star systems.

A general sequence of steps for interstellar exploration:

Slower-than-light exploration survey probes and expeditions may return information through laser, radio, or physical return.

The pace of exploration and expansion can increased depending on the faster-than-light method chosen for the setting.
