Known under many names such as magic, sorcery, witchcraft, wizardry, powers, or psionics, these tales describe fantastic, yet elusive, abilities seemingly beyond the reach of ordinary people or explanation by science.

Some worlds and people of the Alliance claim abilities beyond the understanding of Alliance sciences.

Cultures across Alliance Space react differently to tales of these abilities, and those who claim to possess them.

Some cultures actively embrace and pursue the existence of these abilties, others fear and distrust them, while some pursue violence to suppress any hint of these abilities.

Repeated attempts to verify these claims scientifically fail, driving common skepticism of the existence of these abilities.

But that does nothing to reduce the persistence of rumors and claims.
