SALVAGE SPACE: MASS MARTIAL CONFLICTS
Most spacecraft, space stations, and colonies simply do not have the space to gather massive armies for pitched battles.
The Adventurers possess limited resources to act in combat, which may still suffice in normal circumstances.
Some situations may escalate to involve multiple squads of opponents or, worse, overwhelming swarms of opponents far beyond what the Adventurers can tackle themselves.
Old spacers trade dark tales of unlucky salvors and colonial explorers triggering swarms of defenses in seemingly dead ruins or wrecks with only a few survivors, if any.
Once engaged in hand-to-hand combat or exchanging ranged fire with opponents, the Adventures have limited options, unless they can find a way to de-escalate the situation or force some other pause in the battle.
☐ WITHDRAW / ESCAPE
If the Adventurers may have no stake in the events or conflict the may still have to fight their way free.
The group must tactically coordinate among its members and possibly other groups to break free of the active fight, as well as escape potential pursuit.
☐ SABOTAGE MISSIONS / BATTLES
The Adventurers may carry out harmful or destructive sabotage actions, assassinations, or join into battles against one or more of the factions in the mass conflict.
The group must tactically coordinate with each other to achieve the mission and maintain the upper hand in fights along the way.
The group may also strategically coordinate with others to press for specific battle objectives in cooperation with other forces.
