SALVAGE SPACE: CHASES
Similar to racing, the development of faster vehicles lead to using them to flee conflicts, and use by their pursuers to chase them.
Chase Courses
Unlike a race course designed to challenge racer and vehicle, a chase leads pursuers along a potentially dangerous, obstacle-laden path chosen by someone fleeing pursuit.
The pursued starts with a lead ahead of the pursuers.
The pursued may use actions to increase their lead or completely shake their pursuers such as creating additional obstacles to block or delay the pursuers.
The pursued may attempt to conceal themselves from their pursuers using features of the chase course such as ducking into a parking structure and exiting onto a different street to mislead the pursuers.
Chasing
During the chase, each pursuer negotiates each obstacle of the course while maintaining awareness of the location of the quarry and predicting or anticipating the intetions or possible next moves of their quarry.
Different racing circumstances require successful use of different Attributes and Skills.

Extended duration or distance chases may test navigation, endurance, and field repair skills beyond simply operating the vehicles.
Successes
At each obstacle, the pursued may change directions, tactics, positioning, or concealment to increase the distance or break line of sight from their pursuers.
Pursuers accumulating successes choosing successful tactics, negotiating obstacles and other races, and performing maneuvers may close the distance to their quarry.
Failures
At each obstacle, misjudging tactics, or failing to successfully execute maneuvers may suffer delays, vehicle failures, injuries, crashes, and lose track of their pursuers momentarily.
Pursuers accumulating failures may also suffer delays, vehicle failures, injuries, crashes, and lose track of their quarry momentarily.
